WE LIVE IN THE LAND OF THE FREE, ONLY BECAUSE OF THE BRAVE!
'No arsenal, no weapon in the arsenals of the world, is so formidable as the will and moral courage of free men and women.' Ronald Reagan
"Ask not what your country can do for you; Ask what can you do for your country. "John F.Kennedy
HAVE WE LOST THE WILL TO BE FREE?
We Americans are really good at pointing the finger. We do not want to get our own hands dirty or dig in and help find solutions for the problems we face in our economy, in our education, in our poor, in our world. We are content to sit back and let someone or some others do the job.
But, we expect those we elect, to do our bidding, to get it right as we determine it, determined of course, without any of the knowledge/information needed to make an informed decision. Some of us don’t want to take the time and others cannot understand. But, we expect all the countries problems solved without any type of adversity to us by a person and/or few people in Washington; No wars, no inconveniences or deprivations.
And so, the politicians tell us what they know, we want to hear, they can GET IT DONE. All of us, involved in government politics or not, think that we can pick that one person, who can go in there and make everything right, BASED ON STAGE PERFORMANCES. So we are constantly disappointed, and have become disillusioned with our government.
If we did a reality check, we should find that one person and/or a few people cannot possibly change the direction of our country...only we, the people of the country can do that. So, it really does not matter whom we elect..until we make the effort to take CHARGE of our own lives and our country. Live the way we believe.
I am here to say, it is time, "WE STOP THE "BUCK", not only for the politicians, not only for the rich and famous. But, the "buck" has to stop with each and every one of us. We have to change our non-action and indifference. We are really not going to change our country with unknowledgeable voting. We listen to men and woman who spend enormous amounts of money to seek positions of honor and power. Money for advertising, for travel, speech writing... Have our minds become so conditioned that we haven't the common sense to know, actions speak louder than words!
People willing to generate and spend billions of dollars to reach their goal are showing us their character. Well, that is just the way the world works, and that is what you have to do in this time, to market your skills, some would say. "ABSOLUTE BALONEY", I will say.
In my aged wisdom, I have learned, that we all really know a good honest and sincere person when we see one, IF WE TAKE THE TIME TO LOOK. Good people are usually more obscure, do not perform so that they may be rewarded, may not be good at public speaking, but are consumed by their desire to help others. We know them when we meet them, they induce us to help others and we usually can see and feel their humble spirit. Our country was founded on such people. What more can we ask for? And, I highly doubt that any such person would waste billions of dollars that could benefit other needs, to perform for us to seek position.
A person seeking presidency should be someone proven to be such an American. Someone, whom by their example has proven to us, that He will in all things seek to better our country and act in its best interest. It should not be someone who has to put on a performance to prove he can do it. It should be someone who by years of performance has proved his allegiance to his country.
But, we are consumed with who is going to give us a richer life, and therein lies the biggest problem. And because our country is not are true interest, we choose to believe the best lies told, without full awareness of the reasoning. We want to vote for the person who appears will benefit our cause ‘US’ the most. Many people vote for whomever they think will provide the most welfare, because they are not hearty providers. Others are impressed with more health care, lower taxes providing more income. And then, we have the younger generation seeking euphoria, peace, equality and love for all. But, everyone is concerned with whom will provide the answers and best lifestyle for them.
Power and prestige, big cars, homes, airplanes, more money, is what we are about, and our political system is an extension of who we are as a people. Oppression in other countries, not our problem, wars to prevent terrorism that is not effecting our lives directly, is totally unacceptable.
I am definitely not a war advocate, however, I also do believe that knowing others are suffering and ignoring it, because it is not affecting you or yours, will reap what is sown. I believe that when you continue to ignore situations crying for attention, SUCH AS SUICIDE BOMBERS, they only continue to grow until they will in fact touch your lives, if that is what it takes to get your attention.
I also believe that America has been given prosperity that is meant to be shared and extended to less prosperous individuals/countries. I believe that if we do not share our prosperity, we will in fact lose it. Instead of two, three cars to a family, maybe we should consider having only one, and providing food and clothes for another. We are considered charitable people, but are we really? We are quick to contribute to causes as long as it does not have too big of impact on our own lives and gives us a pat on the back.
The point is until we are ready to get involved, to see the bigger picture, to include ourselves in the direction of our country, it really does not matter so much whom we elect into office, because they are in fact only an extension of ourselves.
They are just in a better position to command the life that we hold dear "Money and Power".
and....if we wait too long...we may lose everything! The bombings of the Twin Towers should have been a time to regroup. Take time to consider how much we really care about the motivational forces of the terrorist. Was this the end or the beginning? How much we (each one of us) is willing to give up, to stand up for what we believe in.
But, it is far easier to live in apathy, convinced that we can do nothing, and just elect someone who is going to get it all right and do it for us. APATHY
Apathy derives from the Greek áðÜèåéá (apatheia), a term used by the Stoics to signify indifference for what one is not responsible for (that is, according to their philosophy, all things exterior, one being only responsible of his representations and judgments).
However, WE ARE RESPONSIBLE, for one, another, AND OUR COUNTRY, each of us is a vital part of the whole and our action or non-action effects the land in which we live. Furthermore, our lives effect those yet to come and provide the direction in which they will live. Will they be as lucky as we are? Or, will we in our apathy, contribute to the downfall of our country. Only the future has the answers?

JUST VOTING CHANGE WON’T GET IT......IT IS WE WHO MUST CHANGE!
CHANGE WHAT WE ARE VOTING FOR... CHANGE THE DIRECTION OF OUR COUNTRY!
CHANGE CAN AND WILL HAPPEN WHEN EACH OF ONE OF US STEPS UP TO THE PLATE AND BATS FOR THE HOME (COUNTRY) TEAM!
